刀鍛冶：若き天才と呼ばれた男 刀匠 吉原義一 一期一会 最初で最後のドキュメンタリー映像作品 Swordsmith of Japanese sword; Yoshikazu Yoshihara ■最初で最後のドキュメンタリー 刀鍛冶「若き天才と呼ばれた吉原義一 一期一会」 史上最年少36歳で刀鍛冶としての最高位「無鑑査」となった刀匠・吉原義一(よしはら・よしかず)。 蛙子丁字と呼ばれる刃文が特徴的な義一の日本刀は、世界中のファンを魅了しました。 その吉原義一の作刀を世界により広めたいと思い2016年から撮影をしていたものです。 が、しかし、撮影中に癌を発病し、闘病中も作刀に励み、当作品となっている日本刀を完成させました。 その直後の2018年、51歳で義一は他界。 日本人の魂である日本刀として「千年も先の人々に受け継がれていくであろう」という思いを込めて 義一は、この刀に「一期一会」と銘を切りました。 この義一の魂のこもった作刀・技術を「千年先に、刀と共に映像として残したい！」という想いから、 最初で最後のドキュメンタリー作品となりました。 ■刀匠・吉原義一 1967年3月29日…
